Storlie Cousins

At Grandma Dianna's over Memorial Weekend, it was my goal to get a picture of her five grand kids all together.  No small task.

I think this one ends up being the winner even though the little guys aren't looking at the camera.  It's the best we could do!

Always have to do a silly one at the end of the photo shoot:

We always have to bring bikes to Grandma's because her hill is so fun to speed down!

Bekah was insistent that Alarik try it too.

He alternated between crying and laughing as his bike rolled down the hill out of his control.

But overall he ended up loving it!

There was still one muddy puddle in Grandma's driveway so Scott and Bekah's favorite thing to do was whiz down the hill at top speed and splash through that.  Scott ended the day with a lot of dried mud on him!

Alarik Lowell is 2!

There wasn't much hoopla on his actual birthday.  Jesse and I painted soffit and fascia most of the day while the kids played in the yard.  We went to Grandma Dianna's for dinner with the cousins and she was thoughtful enough to have a cake for Alarik.
Alarik's latest cute little thing is that he holds his arms out to the sides with palms facing up when asking a question such as "Where Daddy go?" or "Where my bike?"  It's A-dorable!  He's also picked up the phrase "one more time!" and he uses it even when he means 30 more times, as in every single time he goes down the slide.  He also says it after you put on one sock or one shoe..."one more time, mom!"  What a little smarty.

Sunday School Field Trip

Jesse and I chaperoned the annual Sunday School Field Trip last Sunday.  The kids had a great time bowling and in the arcade at Thunder Alley.

Shackled Scott

First there were all the photos of Scott's crazy sleeping positions/arrangements.  Now this:
This is how I found Scott when I woke him up a few mornings ago.  He'd tied his own wrists to his own ankles and then slept like that all night and walked around the house like a puppet when he got up (and still yawning)!

And don't ask what headless Bekah is doing in the background of this photo.  I think I was telling her to get out of the background so she was jumping out, apparently headfirst.  Weird kid.

Toothless Summer

 Scott has another loose tooth.
It's so loose it's practically in front of the one next to it.
And he reports the one next to it is loose too.
This kid could have a toothless summer.
How will he eat sweet corn?

Boys Outside

The rain has started the last few days but before that my boys couldn't get enough of being outside, or as Alarik says, "ow-side"!

Scott put his digger and wheelbarrow to good use.

Alarik's been enjoying the little clubhouse and slide.

He points to the lawnmower and says, "tractor. sit." and then pretends to drive.

And he found a football helmet in the toy shed which he had to put on even though it was full of dirt.

Scott could spend all day on his bike I think.

 Or on Alarik's bike!

And Alarik loves to ride right alongside his big brother.

Scott wanted me to take a picture of a scrape he got from the slide at school.

I love the admiration on his face in this one.

And here he's trying to look tough I guess.

We'll end with one more cute, smiley Alarik picture!

Creek Kids

Now that all that snow is finally gone, the creek is running full and the kids are having a great time playing in it.

Looks like we need to spend a little time repairing bridges this summer.

This day, Bekah was bound and determined to fish in the little creek.

Nothing yet!

This expression is born from Bekah lecturing Scott on how to do whatever it was that he was setting off to do and Scott not appreciating the input.  Hee, hee!

No fish in that spot...

...let's go try upstream a little ways!
