Fall Fest 2013

We had opted to skip Fall Fest this year because people's schedules weren't lining up and we had planned on attending a Fall event at Camp Hiawatha instead.  We missed the Hiawatha thing and the kids complained rather bitterly, so at the last minute Steph and Siri decided we were doing it, so we threw it together!

Since it was rather last minute, Grandma Linda was the only one who got creative with her contribution to the spread of food.  Deviled egg spiders:

And this disgusting but delicious cookie truffle rat!  Eeeeeeeeewwww!

There were hotdogs and a veggie tray too, but Scott opted for sugar with a side of sugar and sugar to drink.  It's a wonder he ever went to sleep that night!

Alarik was a fan of the candy bowl too.

We've found that the older the kids get, the less we actually have to plan stuff for them to do.  The girls were happy off by themselves playing some sort of game that involved all of Steph's gourd decorations.

And the boys played football.

Steph did do a scavenger hunt for them and check out her action shot of the girls racing to find their items!

Yes, a good time was had by all and I'm very grateful that Steph and Siri decided to do this at the last minute.

Because you just can't beat sitting around a campfire on a nice, mild fall day.
